Ukrainian women - cherish the money. Ukrainian women are more frugal than men, according to a research culture savings held IMAS International with the support of Erste Group.



According to the Managing Director of IMAS International Angara Lechner, a very important consider saving 48% of Ukrainian women and only 37% of men.

67% set aside at least 550 USD per month and only 6% can replenish their savings by more than 1.1 thousand USD per month.

The average citizen of Ukraine can save 460 $ per month, which is 48 USD less than the results of the 2010 study.

Among the concerns that prevent the Ukrainians to save more, or even to start saving money - a possible devaluation of the hryvnia and high inflation.

Ukrainians prefer to keep funds in cash (50% of respondents). At the same time the Ukrainians are beginning to use more bank products - 32% set aside for card accounts, 15% use the deposit and only 8% are saving money in current accounts.

As noted by Lechner, about 81% of Ukrainians are neutral or negative attitude to investment funds, stocks and bonds. The greatest interest in investment opportunities is observed among the younger generation - about 74% of Ukrainians aged 15 to 29 years either positively or neutrally related to investments.

As reported, Ukrainians spend on food to nearly 52% of their income, which is the highest in Europe.
