absurge – carney space dust (ES060)

Absurge, San Fransisco, USA fidget, house, electro, swing. Serge Beaulieu AKA absurge got in touch with me few hours ago. Listened the mix, loved it, podcasted it. Simple as that !

This mix was recorded in a single take, on September 21st 2010…. and has not been edited or mastered. therefore it’s not perfect, but it is fun and weird and a bit twisted too. Over the years I have been collecting an eclectic mix of dance music. The apex of this habit exploded at Burning Man 2010, DJ’ing atop The Janky Barge. (Saturday night for those that were there)
I wanted to recreate that set… I call it circus house and it’s inspired by the desert…

What is Electro Swing for you ?

For me, electro swing marries the earliest eras of classic dance music, with the newest sounds of the electronic movement. its futureistic nostalgica, new yet old, and makes everyone smile and move.
