Michael Hengartner appointed as new President of the University of Zurich

On 24 June 2013, the Board of the University of Zurich appointed Prof. Dr. Michael Hengartner as new President, following his nomination by the academic senate.  His four-year term will begin in August 2014. He will succeed Prof. Dr. Andreas Fischer, who served the University for six years in this position and will retire next summer.
