Google приняла решение разделить набор онлайновых офисных приложений Google Apps на два различных цикла релизов: первый будет предоставлять доступ к обновлениям сразу после их появления, второй - во время регулярного цикла выпуска обновлений. "Мы всегда рады предоставлять доступ к новейшим функциям, как только они становятся готовы для этого, но мы также понимаем, что некоторые наши клиенты работают в сложных ИТ-средах и им необходимо вначале получать уведомления о новшествах, а уже потом их внедрять", - говорят в Google.

По словам представителей компании, именно для последних и было проведено разделение циклов релизов на два направления. В компании говорят, что предлагают для клиентов варианты "rapid release" и "scheduled release track", соответственно.

Позже Google планирует внедрить поддержку технологии, которая позволит администраторам доменов вначале испытывать новые разработки, а уже потом развертывать их для своих пользователей, пишет CyberSecurity.

Согласно новым правилам Google, правило двух циклов затрагивает продукты Gmail, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, Google Docs и Google Sites.
