Todd has already established a snappy style of his own & didn't need any help in the fashion department. Our rockstar staff collaborated in selecting this new pair and it turned out to be the perfect finisher! Todd expressed that Jennifer and Bill made him "feel like family" which highlighted both his and OUR experience. :)

This is our favorite time of the year- we are ready to Spring Forward with a new crop of Eyewear collections! Take a peep at our snaps from this weekend's VISION EXPO EAST where Stan, Nate, and Bill were busy finding the best fresh new frame styles for the shop! This week's EOF frame pays homage to one of the Seattle institutions to help birth the grunge scene:
RKCNDY in Blackish
This petite, sorta squarish, sorta cat-eyeish shape dares to be a touch of both for those looking for a little edge while maintaining a femme façade- a truly badass shape! What else can we say about the deep matte grey & frosted white color? It would be SO SEATTLE to declare this color scheme "the new black"....

The RKCNDY was a hole in the wall, all ages club venue at the foot of Capitol Hill & Downtown Seattle, on Yale ave. during the 90's. It is legendary for helping cultivate the "grunge scene", which made many local big hitters such as Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden,and Hole (plus countless other alt rock bands) icons of the music world.
RKCNDY was a refuge of sorts from the soggy grey mentality of that time- lively crowds engaged in many crowd surfing & mosh pit ventures to get their passive-aggressive angst out of the way. No doubt, when the doors closed on October 30, 1999 it was a sad day- in a way, the Seattle music scene hasn't been the same since.

 Duma's memorable new glasses proves our theory that, "like attracts like." The vibrant blue is as striking as his presence- if you don't already know him, you are likely to ask yourself, "who is this intriguing guy?"
Mr. Love is one of those unforgettable "somebodys" you run into in the city, such as at the beach or park where he most likely is out jamming out some impressive tunes. Its an understatement to say he is an accomplished acoustic guitarist, with a notable musical resume that spans everything from Jazzy Funk & Hip-Hop, to experimental pop sounds.

Greenwood is one of Seattle's north central districts that neighbors our own Fremont area. Some people consider it "Phinneywood" now, as the growing volume of businesses and residential zones blur the divide between the two locales. It is abuzz with restaurants, bars, local mom & pop shops, and cool boutiques. Also, the arts are alive & well with such venues as The Art Center of Greenwood, Taproot Theater, and the 2nd Friday Art Walk.

According to Seattle-based blog, THE LOCALIST, hitting any number of the antique stores, grabbing a bite at the many eateries, or taking a leisurely stroll through Greenwood Park are must-dos in this thriving district of Seattle.
