How Long with Eyes on Fremont:
Mayann is currently the longest standing employee of EOF- rounding the corner of 14 years! She has had the advantage of witnessing the evolution of this special little shop- through all of its turnover and growth, she's proud to have been a part of the process.
Her EOF "Specialty":
If there is anyone fitted to the term "jack of all trades" it would be Mayann. She has had a hand (and foot) in most operations around the shop; from dispensing & customer satisfaction, to lab support, handling bills and consignment accounts, assisting in frame selection and design, and social media networking... she enjoys the wide range of tasks that helps EOF thrive.

Mayann's current preoccupations & passions:
Mayann has a passion for music and art- her past times almost always include attending live music shows and supporting the art scene around Seattle. Everything from Hip Hop/rap to indie rock, to jazz & experimental electronica to DJ sets, tends to draw her interest & you will most likely run into her at any live gathering that involves local art & fashion. When she's not grinding away at work or the gym, she loves metal fabrication and wears a lot of her own handmade jewelry pieces. Danaca Design in the University District is a place she really enjoys learning the metalsmithing process.
She has currently has ambitions of learning dance and traveling around the world, seeing as many places as possible!

Here's Madison!
How Long with Eyes on Fremont:
Coming close to 2 years; Madison is our summer baby... She started here in July 2013.
Her EOF "Specialty":
Madison has a unique position at Eyes on Fremont. While not an actual optician, her proposed job titles include (but are not limited to): Front end manager, Opticians' assistant, office support, customer service support,store greeter/hostess (with the mostest!), store photographer.... We actually like to think of Madison as the "glue" holding our busy little shop together!
What Madison is doing when she's not "directing traffic" in our bustling shop:
This gal is quite artistic! Beyond taking fabulous photographs, she does things like bake, paint, and her latest creative venture: card making. Madison finger painted the striped shirt wall hanging below (which further affirms our suspicions about her love of striped things). Madison is drawn to organizing and enhancing the visual fields around her- to decorate her new, cozy micro studio is her collection of succulents in aesthetically pleasing pots & glass bowls. Madison is an enthusiast of this particular plant variety- she has a collection of over twenty now!

Optician: Milli
How Long with Eyes On Fremont:
4 years! Milli has been a licensed dispensing optician since April 2011.
Her EOF "Specialty":
Milli actually came on board while still attending the Opticianry program at SCCC. She worked as our very first front end "greeter/host" for our busy shop days. She has a natural energy working with people partly due to her extensive background and years working in PR & Marketing for magazines.
What defines Milli as a person:
Milli identifies strongly with her Italian roots & a things that tend to define her culture: Food, family, & fun!

She is currently planning another trip to Mexico with her family: her husband and two sons, who are her inspiration & livelihood. She describes her sons as "day & night" but both compliment one another & bring balance to her life, much like yin & yang. In addition to the family dynamic, she balances duty & work with fun- enjoying music concerts with her eldest son (they went to see Eminem & Rhianna just this fall!) & warm weather family vacations every year. And, there's no better way to appreciate your loved ones than with some well prepared home cooking: something she picked up from her mother (she still cooks her best dishes with her Ma's spoon). Just a few of the reasons that Milli has one of the sunniest dispositions of our opticians at Eyes on Fremont.

Optician: Dan Butler
How long with EOF: Dan's first day at EOF was June 1, 2004... that makes 10.5 years!
EOF specialty: Dan has been a dispensing optician for over 20 years and is a master at his craft! The process and patience involved in opticianry work is something of a "lost art", but he never falters in taking care of every detail of your eyewear fitting experience. From frame selection, to evaluating the best options for your Rx, to fitting glasses, to effective trouble-shooting of eyewear concerns, Dan puts 1000% towards a positive experience and somehow, remains pretty "Zen" through it all!

Dan's current inspirations & pre-occupations:
Dan's a multi-faceted character. For starters, he's enthusiastic about music, biking, swimming, and tending to his French Bulldogs, Olly & Savannah!
He's currently channeling a revival of tunes 40 years back with Canadian singer Joni Mitchell's experimental folk album, The Hissing of Summer Lawns- "Masterpiece," as Dan calls it. Its concurrent with a Canadian theme: he's in the process of planning a trip to Quebec later this year with his wife, Diane.
As for the poultry flavored toothpaste? Well, Dan is a devout caretaker to his four-legged companions, Olly and Savannah - his adorable French Bulldogs. As mentioned before, Dan's attention to detail & care is impeccable. And discovering the "perfect" toothpaste for his dogs is charmingly symbolic of that.

We are excited to share our new art addition to Eyes on Fremont by local artist, Stefano Altamura!
For those of you who haven't yet had the pleasure of physically visiting the shop yet, we aim to make Eyes on Fremont a warm, laid-back, visually-stimulating shopping experience... we want our visitors to leave the shop on an inspired, high note!
We really love to express personality- not just our own, but those of our patrons and of the creative community in Seattle.
Because glasses buying IS a personal experience.
